Commended Finalist of The Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year 2015

01st December 2015

I am thrilled to have had my image of Elgol , Isle of Skye , commended by the judges in the final of the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year 2015.

This means my image will be printed in the hard back book. It will also appear in the official eBook and in the exhibitions that will travel around Scotland in the next 12 months. I also had another 8 images shortlisted for the final which will appear in the eBook.

The award winning image below was taken on a very dull evening in March with the light fading fast and an incoming tide. I used a long exposure to capture the ebb and flow of the water and the squalls that were drifting across the Black Cuillin mountains in the distance.

EDIT SEP 2016:

I was surprised and delighted to come across my Elgol image in an exhibition in the Castle Stalker View café near Appin while I was on holiday in Scotland this September. Unfortunately we were too late for cake in the tearoom :( (and there was no good pictures to be had for sunset down at the shoreline either - win some loose some!)
